When he saw her at the alter, he cried. After all the years he’s served our country faithfully, seen conflict and endured the difficulties of a life in the U.S. Army, the sight of his beautiful bride, 14 years to the day of their marriage, affirming their love for each other and their faith, brought him to tears as he was filled with love and gratitude at how incredible his life is.
I met the stunning bride; Marie, through a mutual friend from my time in Virginia and I’m eternally thankful for our friend Isis (after the Egyptian goddess! 🙂 ) who has a beautiful spirit and whom I’m still grateful to call a friend, and who referred Marie to me as soon as her family PCS’ed to Hawaii. Marie and Barry are the epitome of why I love my job so much. They’re so clearly in love and are two kind and laid-back people that just live their lives authentically and full of love. I was so privileged to photographed the regularization of their marriage through the Catholic Church in November on their 14 year anniversary. It was such an honor to capture these moments and I was caught off guard by how emotional I got throughout the evening!
