It all started with a Facebook post, “Looking for a photographer for baby’s first birthday cake smash.” Needless to say, I jumped all over it and thankfully, was able to book Victoria’s 1st Birthday and met one of the sweetest and loveliest families in the process! As soon as I saw their pictures, full of joy, warmth, and love, I knew that I wanted to meet them and help them capture all of those feelings in their photos.
We met at Sherwood Beach and with the rain threatening us the entire time, we made it through the session with soft, diffuse light and a beautiful weather! I was able to bring along my trusty assistant (Aidan) and it was such an incredible session! Amia and Raymond are just so sweet and friendly, and a true joy to work with. I always budget time (even if it’s only 10 minutes) to photograph the parents when they book a family or cake-smash session because I truly believe that the marriage is the foundation for the family and these two were certainly no exception! They are so clearly in love and full of joy with their family that I almost couldn’t take it! I just love meeting families like this and capturing such a special and beautiful moment for them is such a joy!
