My Goals for the remainder of 2020 and Why January was a free trial period!

Hi friends! We’re done with the very first month of 2020 and I wanted to share my goals for this year with you! Why wait until February to share? Because, like many of you, I need to get a little boost after the first few weeks of the new year to continue pushing myself.

It may come as a surprise to you but I have pretty severe anxiety. It’s not constant, it’s not over small things like spilled milk (unless it’s breastmilk! LOL!), and it’s not always immediately visible to my friends. My anxiety isn’t an ever-present feeling but instead, it is triggered by not knowing. By not being able to plan, prepare, or know what’s going on in my or my children’s life and future. That’s why, January was incredibly challenging for me.

We’ve had some incredible news, my husband who is utterly incredible as a man, husband, father, and Marine, was selected for promotion. This was something that, although I suspected would happen, Rafael was nervous about. I mean, it’s a huge deal and so exciting! We waited for over a week for news and when we finally found out, we were delighted! I’m so, so, so proud of him and know that he’s earned every bit of this.

However, along with the promotion comes the unknown… Specifically, where are we going next? As it turns out, we’re waiting once again, waiting for orders that may or may not come in the next months. Waiting to find out whether we’re moving this Summer, Winter, or next Spring. I’ll be honest, I don’t mind moving. I don’t mind starting over, unpacking all my things, and settling in to a new home. I love exploring new locations, meeting new people, and finding the closeness of our family with each move. What I don’t like, it’s the waiting. Waiting to find out when and where we’re going is almost unbearable for me. Especially when

This year, I’ve set so many goals for myself, my family, marriage, and my business. To narrow things down a bit, I’ve created my favorite thing….a list of course! I’d like to share a few of them from each category!

Personal goals:

1. Read 2 books per month

2. Stop using Credit Cards (one of the books I’m reading this year is Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover) and it’s actually on my list for this month!

3. Date Rafael on a weekly basis from home J

Family goals:

1. Plan 2 monthly family activities

2. Commit to a real schedule…I’m a bit of the laid-back mom and need to get these kiddos on schedule!

Business:

1. Start photographing adventure elopements

2. Book 100 sessions (don’t worry, this also includes mini’s! LOL), I’m currently at 8 for the year!

Well there you have it friends! These are some of my goals for this year. I also have some that are more personal and private (and super specific) and I’ve been working with a few amazing groups that will help me accomplish all of my goals this year! I’m so excited for this year and so thankful that I’ve been able to get so much done so far in 2020. I cannot wait to find out what the future holds and to get started on whatever that may be!
