As far as military wedding traditions go, the military wedding sword arch is one of the most beautiful. I am so thankful that I was able to capture these images for such a wonderful bride and groom. For Kevin and Genesis, planning a military wedding with large families (the groom has 5 sisters!) in Southern California consisted great food, lots of drinks, and ensuring that everyone had a blast and brought their dancing shoes! They also ensured to incorporate all of the traditions of a military wedding. It was a truly emotional and sweet wedding.
Kevin is truly, an officer, and a gentleman. Genesis is such a fun and beautiful woman, match made in heaven! When they decided to start this new journey in life together, a Marine military wedding was the only way to go. After all, the best man was also a Marine and quite worried about how the upcoming nuptials would affect their friendship! LOL! All joking aside, as you can see, Kevin comes from a big group of military members (his mom is a Marine Corps veteran as well) and so everything from the military wedding receiving line to cutting the cake with a sword, all of the beautiful and traditional aspects of a military wedding were absolutely beautiful and such important parts of their special day.
This beautiful park is tucked away in Vista, California and it’s truly a gem. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the historic adobe served as the headquarters of Rancho Guajome, a Mexican land grant.
What was especially beautiful though is how open and airy everything is. There were so many trees that it was the perfect place to take photos in the midday sun.
Genesis and Kevin had their ceremony right behind the adobe and the reception took place in Adobe and their reception was underneath the beautiful shaded trees in the courtyard. It all felt so relaxed and fun and those Marines, Soldiers, and Airmen really got in the spirit with drinking, dancing, and laughing. It was such a fun day and working with such a kind and fun couple is one of the biggest perks of my job!
I wish you both the absolute happiest of lives together. Embarking on a new adventure is always great when you’re hand in hand with your person. I can tell by the way you hug and look at each other that your futures will be sparkling with the light of love and shared joy. The honor and respect that you both have for each other and your families is a great reminder of how important it is to be surrounded by those you love when celebrating a union of two souls and two families. I am so thrilled for you both and it was such an honor to witness your love. Congratulations again!
