“Diamonds are a girls best friend!”
Well, at least that’s the song but these gorgeous Summer brides used luxurious flowers to make a gorgeous statement that is perfect for Spring and Summer alike!
If you’ve ever been to Hawai’i (more specifically, Waikiki) and especially walked the area in the SUMMER , you know how absolutely packed it can get with people EVERYWHERE. Which is why, I felt that this current time would be the only chance I ever had to take images like these.
An empty Waikiki, with it’s open spaces and beautiful colors was the perfect opportunity for an idea i’ve had marinating for months! Floral Headpieces for Summer Brides!
I have an incredible friend named Amari who is not only an incredible photographer, but has a bridal gown business and is truly one of my favorite people! Unfortunately, we met in the thick of COVID-19 and have only been able to hang out on a handful of occasions but I’m so excited to have met and befriended such a wonderful person! She helped put this inspirational session together!
We teamed up with Sylvia, owner of S.F. Fleur here in Oahu. She is such a sweet person and truly a creative artist! I spoke with her via Instagram and knew that she was such a professional and would be great to work with for this project. Her work is definitely the perfect combination of beauty, skill, and creativity. I have her contact information below!
Now, on to these beautiful bridal looks!
If you’re planning something creative or different but that feels authentic to you, then I’m your photographer!
It’s so important that on your day, you be with someone who is so comfortable with both traditional and more modern ideas and creations. I think that making choices that are a genuine reflection of your best and happiest version of yourselves is so important for your wedding day.
This is why decisions such as your gown and florals will definitely help tell the story of your unique and beautiful relationship. It’s kind of crazy how these two details will be so telling of you and your fiancé.
I remember when Rafael and I were engaged and I didn’t know what types of flowers or gown I wanted but I was (and still am) delighted to describe the mood we hoped to achieve and trust my vendors to help me create something delightful and genuine.
For this session, I trusted Sylvia and to create something amazing 🙂 I wanted something that was soft yet editorial, completely impractical for daily use and absolutely beautiful! I wanted them to look like a headpieces and not crowns (although I do LOVE a haku lei’) The feel I was going for was like a creative and fun project that inspires my future brides to try something unique, interesting, and authentic, even if it’s impractical and surprising!
I love working on projects like this where we (creative entrepreneurs) have the freedom and space to just CREATE, our clients trust us, and we collaborate with each other. It is truly the best feeling to come up with custom ideas!
So thankfully we were able to meet in Downtown Honolulu and had the most epic editorial session for Summer brides!
