Army Newborn Session

An Army newborn session was the best way to celebrate the birth of baby Alexander. And, he was born a fighter just like his daddy! This sweet newborn is the son of a US Soldier and the most amazingly beautiful mommy!

At the ripe old age of 32 days, he was able to kick off all the swaddles that we tried to wrap him in, wriggle out of his poses, and communicate his love of my heating pad!

He was born last month right here in Hawaii and is definitely a beautiful baby boy. I was so excited to meet him that I felt like the countdown until his session was never going to end! LOL!

His dad Nick just graduated Drill Sergeant School and is just delighted that he was able to spend this time with him. Although, drill school may have been a bit easier than taking care of a newborn! 🙂

His sweet mom, Victoria is just head over heels in love with this cutie pie (and can you blame her!) he’s just adorable! She booked her newborn session with me after I photographed her maternity session and we spent some time discussing how to implement his dad’s Army uniform into the photos.

When Victoria and Nick arrived with baby Alexander, I was so excited because the day was just sunny and beautiful and it was perfect for lighting this little guy. I photograph newborns in my home which is converted into a studio so that newborns are warm and comfortable and the parents have a very relaxed environment for their baby’s first photos.

I remember what it’s like to bring home a new baby and I loved being able to give the new parents a calm and private space to just enjoy the process while we listened to baby Alexander’s favorite music (Disney’s Classical Music)!

Also, I must tell you guys that Victoria looked great! I know how hard the first few months are after having a baby and honestly, Victoria was just radiant and so happy and full of love for her sweet baby boy! This Army Newborn session was such a joy.

Nick and Victoria,

It was such a delight to meet your sweet baby boy! He is absolutely beautiful and I think that when you guys left, he took a little piece of my heart with him! I just wanted to let you know that you guys are doing such a great job with him! It’s so great to see parents that are just so happy to be parents and so clearly in love with their baby.

I’m honored that you chose me to capture these memories for you and I hope that you love these photos as much as I do. I will always remember how excited you got when you looked at the back of my camera in between shots and I hope that wherever you are, these photos bring tears of joy and fill you with love! It was so great to talk to you about how overwhelming the love that a mother feels for her children is and how that intense love comes so instantly and with so much force the second you glimpse over at your new baby.

My hope is that you guys enjoy your new family, enjoy all of the memories, laughter, and snuggles. That you may delight in the excitement of his first smiles, hugs, and steps and feel the deep peace of having a happy and healthy child.

Sincerely,

Jailyn
