An Open Letter to my clients

Hi friends,

I wanted to take a moment to share my heart for why I am still here for you. Through the cancelled weddings, postponed vacations, delayed honeymoons, and missed birth sessions, I am here for you. I am here because, even though it’s been excruciating to miss these events, face a complete loss of interaction with my amazing clients (friends), I know that the connections I build with my clients, the laughs we share, and the images we create are PRICELESS! Friends, I sincerely believe that we are almost out of the woods with quarantine. Not completely, there will always be a lingering concern for large gatherings but that’s never really been my scene anyway! I am here to serve my friends when they need someone to help them during all those tiny, sweet giggles, first kisses as husband and wife, long-awaited family vacations, yummy little cake smashes, empowering boudoir sessions, and everything in between.

For those of you planning a wedding, I’m sure some of you have spent the past few months wondering about when and how you’ll finally be able to take those vows. The day that you’ve been waiting for may have been postponed or outright changed. Whether you’d originally planned a large gathering of friends and family or had planned an intimate event from day one, I know that this is your once-in-a-lifetime, full of joy and love and laughter, beautiful day. I know that the stress of planning such a momentous event with the imminent fear of it being changed is so difficult. I remember being a young, excited bride that couldn’t wait to say my vows. I couldn’t wait to be Mrs. Untalan and I couldn’t wait to celebrate our future because ultimately, that’s what a wedding is. It’s not just a celebration of your past, it’s a promise for the future. How incredible!?!

So, here we are, about 7 years into quarantine (or maybe it’s 7 weeks?) and you’re wondering if and when things will return to how they once were. When will you be able to safely take that family vacation, honeymoon in Hawai’I, exchange your vows, celebrate the birth or birthday of your child, or maybe, just maybe, celebrate life again. Enjoy the small moments, the big moments, and everything in between. Well, whether it’s June 1stor later in the year, I’ll be here. I’ll be waiting, camera in hand, to help you create images that will stand the test of time, photos that you will look at and think, “Hey, remember when the world was put on a massive time-out and we discovered ourselves again?

So, I’ll just leave you with this, I know things have been hard but through the cancelled weddings, postponed vacations, delayed honeymoons, and missed birth sessions, I am here for you. I am here and I miss you guys so much. I miss the connections I build with my clients, the laughs we share, and the images we create. I firmly believe in the importance of “Collect memories, not things” and this is belief is WHY I think photography is so important, why I am so passionate about my career, and why I am still here, and will be here long after the dust has settled, for you, for your memories, and for your moments.

xo, Jailyn
